Nažalost, došao je i taj dan. Ryan Villopoto, 27. godišnji vozač Kawasaki Racing Team-a, je službeno objavio kraj svoje karijere. Iako ovo i nije toliko začuđujuće, mnogi su se nadali kako će se RV2 ipak predomisliti te odvesti i iduću godinu u MXGP klasu. Do toga nije došlo i nažalost mogao je biti jedan od rijetkih za kojeg su mogli reći da je bio najbolji iz oba svijeta, AMA i FIM.
S obzirom da je dugi niz godina proveo u ovom sportu, za očekivati je vidjeti ga i dalje, samo još ne znamo u kakvoj ulozi.
